Hello, I’m Sami! Designer and Birth & Postpartum Doula based in Cornwall.

While this may seem like an unusual combination, design and doula work sit harmoniously at the heart of how I work. Both are rooted in intention, creativity, care, and service, and I’m deeply grateful to share this path with you.

After more than ten years in design, alongside a long-standing dedication to slow fashion, I felt a growing pull to create with deeper purpose and contribute more meaningfully to my Cornish community — to build a hybrid practice grounded in emotion, responsibility, and human connection.

Creating has always been essential to who I am. It is how I process, respond, and make sense of the world. Over time, though, I felt a widening call toward something raw, sacred, and often overlooked: the care and support offered to birthing people and their families.

Training as a doula has been one of the most affirming decisions I’ve made. It broadened my learning, deepened my perspective & values, and reconnected me with my purpose. I am honoured to be part of an incredible network of doulas here in Cornwall, offering care rooted in tradition, compassion, and respect.

Pregnancy, birth, and the transition into parenthood are among life’s most significant passages. I offer steady, empathetic support during this time, holding space for individuals to trust their intuition and reconnect with their innate power, potential, and wisdom.

I am a Red Tent–trained Birth & Postpartum Doula, currently focusing on traditional postpartum care. My work includes support during the first forty days, traditional nourishment, herbal remedies, massage, and esoteric practices such as wrapping and closing ceremonies.

Alongside my doula work, I illustrate and design products shaped by my experiences with the families I support. My artwork evolves through exploration of plant wisdom, herbal potential, and affirmation-based practices, forming the foundation of the resources I offer through my doula services.

The inspiration behind my garments stems from a commitment to balanced, wholesome living and community. I create pieces that carry emotion and can be worn with comfort, intention, and care. My work as a doula has taught me the power of our senses, and how the objects we surround ourselves with, especially during times of transformation, become woven into our memories and experiences.

Each Sami-k garment evolves through a thoughtful process of illustration and product development, with quality, fit, feel, and practicality at its core. Organic fabrics and sustainable components are sourced within the UK from small, family-run suppliers. My fabrics, produced in partnership with a family-run mill in Kerala, India, are fully GOTS-certified and hand-woven. From my home studio in Cornwall, I transform them into considered, enduring pieces made with care, respect, and intention.
