Hello, I’m Sami! Designer and Birth & Postpartum Doula based in Cornwall.

While this may seem like an unusual combination, design and doula work sit harmoniously at my heart. Both are rooted in intention, creativity, care and service, and I’m deeply grateful to share this path with you.

After twelve years in the fashion industry and a long-standing dedication to slow fashion, I felt a growing pull to create with deeper purpose and contribute more meaningfully to my Cornish community - to build a hybrid practice grounded in emotion, responsibility, and human connection.

Creating has always been essential to how I process and engage with the world. Over time, I felt drawn to something raw and sacred: supporting birthing people and their families.

Watching friends and colleagues navigate pregnancy and the transition into motherhood felt intense and wild. The lack of support and systems around this sacred time did not sit comfortably with me.

Training with Red Tent as a birth and postpartum doula has been one of the most affirming decisions I have made. Deepening my perspective and reconnecting me with purpose. I’m honoured to be part of a network of doulas in Cornwall, offering care & ceremony rooted in tradition, compassion, and respect.

Pregnancy, birth, and the transition into parenthood are profound life passages. I provide steady, empathetic support, holding space for individuals to trust their intuition and reconnect with their innate power, wisdom, and potential.

Alongside my doula work, I illustrate and design garments shaped by my experiences with the families I support.

My artwork evolves through exploration of plant wisdom, herbal potential, and affirmation-based practices, forming the foundation of the resources I offer through my doula services.

My garments are inspired by balanced living and community. I create pieces that are to be worn with comfort, intention, and care. My work as a doula has shown me how the objects around us, especially in transformative times, can shape our memories and experiences.

Each Sami-K garment evolves through a thoughtful process of illustration and product development, with quality, fit, and practicality at its core. Organic fabrics and sustainable components are sourced within the UK from small, family-run suppliers. My fully GOTS* certified fabrics are produced by a family-run mill in Kerala. I transform them into considered, enduring pieces from my home studio in Cornwall.
